Man seriously injured in rollover crash on U.S. 25E in Corbin Friday

A Middlesboro man was injured Friday morning after he lost control of his pickup truck on Cumberland Gap Parkway, in Corbin, and flipped it several times.
Police say 31-year-old Bryan Cox was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the single-vehicle crash just inside the Corbin city limits. He was traveling west on the divided highway at the time of the accident.
According to Corbin Police Lt. Jason Moore, who is investigating the crash, Cox told him he "swerved to avoid a dog" and then lost control of the truck. It flipped several times and suffered severe damage before coming to rest.
"Somehow, he ended up in the bed of the truck," Moore said. "He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt."
Cox was the only occupant in the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Corbin for treatment. Moore said he believes Cox may have suffered head injuries in the crash.
The vehicle came to rest in the middle of the roadway, shutting down the westbound lane until the investigation and cleanup was complete.
