A Rockholds man lost one of his arms in a single-vehicle crash late Sunday night.
Authorities say the accident happened on Owens Branch Road at about 9:15 p.m. Fifty-year-old Morris Miller lost control of his vehicle on the roadway in a curve and slammed into a barbed-wire fence. The fence wrapped around one of his arms and severed it below the elbow.
Morris was able to drive himself to a nearby quick-stop store to solicit aid. He was taken by local resident Tony Grubb to Knox Memorial Hospital in Barbourville before being airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. His severed limb was recovered but could not be reattached.
