Lonnie D. Walden

Lonnie D. Walden, age 84, of Williamsburg, Ky., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 9, 1938 in Laurel County, Ky. to the late Nelson and Louise Konitzer Walden.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Rae Walden.
Mr. Walden was the Whitley County Agency Manager of Kentucky Farm Bureau for over 45 years. He was Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve serving from 1962 until 1987. He was a Trustee at Cumberland College now University of the Cumberlands. He was on the Board of Directors at Community Trust Bank. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Ky.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia B. Walden of Williamsburg, Ky., two children, Jennifer Walden-Fain (Mitch) of Prospect, Ky., Lonnie “Skip” Walden (Leigh Ann) of Corbin, Ky.; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Walden, Baleigh Walden, Lakin Fain and Aspen Fain; one sister, Lynn Walden of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Glae Walden of London, Ky.; several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was Saturday, June 18, at Main Street Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Lowrie and Rev. Donnie Bruce Patrick officiating.
A private burial was held in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily, Ky.
