London-Corbin Airport hosting open house Saturday
The London-Corbin Airport will be hosting its 12th annual open house Saturday.
Airport Manager Matt Singer said 10 civilian planes along with the Kentucky National Guard helicopter and helicopters belonging to Phi Air Methods, Air Evac will be on display on the airport flight ramp.
“We also have Kolb Airplanes bringing three ultralights and the Musem of Flight out of Rome, Georgia is sending T-28 which is a Vietnam era trainer,” Singer said.
Airplane and helicopter rides will be available.
Singer said the 20-minute flights will be $25 for the planes and $35 for the helicopters.
“Visitors may prebuy the rides by calling the airport between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.,” Singer said.
In addition to the planes on the ramp, the airport will host a car show in the parking lot. Anyone with a classic or custom car, truck, van or motorcycle is welcome to bring it out for the event.
Several food trucks will be on site serving a variety of food.
Admission to the event is free.
Parking is available in the back portion of the neighboring General Dynamics lot.
“They are working at General Dynamics on Saturday so we ask visitors to come through the airport entrance off of U.S. 25,” Singer said.
