Local teens competing in Mountain Laurel Festival
Corbin High School and Whitley County High School will both be represented during the 92nd Annual Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival (KMLF), which will take place May 25-28 in Pineville.

Marissa Douglas is representing Whitley County High School in the princess pageant and Mary Hope Jackson is representing Corbin High School.
Douglas is the 18-year-old daughter of Michael and Melissia Douglas.
Jackson is the daughter of Brent and Jenni Lou Jackson.
The pair will take part in the 2023 Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival Princess Pageant, which will take place on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the Pineville High School Gymnasium on Laurel Street.
In addition to the princess coronation, the festival features quality crafts and concessions, a 5K run, and carnival around the Pineville courthouse square.
The KMLF weekend kicks off Thursday evening at the Pineville High School Gymnasium and will feature country music star Kameron Marlowe.
Saturday morning will begin with the gala parade at 10 a.m. and the crowing of the 2023 KMLF Queen at the Laurel Cove Amphitheater at 2 p.m. by Gov. Andy Beshear.
The princess pageant is made up of representatives from local high schools and the queen pageant is made up of representatives from universities and colleges.
The University of the Cumberlands will be represented by Hanna Lyons.
