Local students graduate from Cumberlands
University of the Cumberlands announces that 52 local students received diplomas on May 8. Of this group, four graduated with the distinction of summa cum laude, requiring a grade point standing of 3.95 to a perfect 4.0, two graduated with the distinction of magna cum laude, requiring a grade point standing of 3.85 to 3.84, and three graduated with the distinction of cum laude, requiring a grade point standing of 3.7 to 3.84.
Spring 2010 graduates include:
Travis Adkins, of Williamsburg, who received a Master of Arts in Teaching. Adkins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Adkins and the husband of Mary Adkins.
Roger Ayers, of Williamsburg, who received a Bachelor of Science in middle school math and special education. Ayers is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ayers.
Robert Becerra, of Corbin, who received a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with a minor in history. Becerra is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Becerra.
Amy Bramble, of Williamsburg, who received a Bachelor of Science in biology, with a minor in psychology. Bramble graduated with the distinction of cum laude. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Bowlin and the wife of James Bramble.
Lindsey Cockrum, of Williamsburg, who received a Master of Arts in Teaching in elementary education. Cockrum is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cockrum.

Teresa Cornelius, of Williamsburg, who received a Master of Arts in Teaching in history. Cornelius is the daughter of Mr. Dave Cornelius and Ms. Linda Alsip.
Jessica Cox, of Williamsburg, who received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, with a minor in biology. Cox graduated with the distinction of summa cum laude. She is the daughter of Mr. Hoyt Cox and the late Barbara Cox.
Kandice Croley, of Williamsburg, who received a Bachelor of Science in public health and human services. She is the daughter of Mr. Bernard Croley and Ms. Nora Sue.
