Local residents make Dean’s Lists, President’s Lists
Local residents proved to be good scholars at colleges and universities both inside and outside Kentucky during the Fall 2022 semester.
Below are some of their accomplishments.
Belmont University
Belmont University has announced the list of students recognized on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2022 semester, including Jaylen Gambrell of Williamsburg.
Dean’s List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Located two miles from downtown Nashville, Tennessee, Belmont University comprises nearly 9,000 students from every state and 33 countries. The university offers more than 115 areas of undergraduate study, 41 master’s programs and five doctoral degrees.
Berea College
Corbin resident Collin Tennant has been named to the Fall 2022 Dean’s List at Berea College.
A student is named to the Dean’s List who achieves a GPA of 3.4 or higher while passing at least four total credits, a course load equivalent to 16 semester hours.
Berea College offers bachelor’s degrees in 34 majors, including arts and sciences and select professional programs, as well as independent majors designed by students to mirror approved majors at other colleges.
Founded upon inclusive Christian principles in 1855, Berea was the first interracial and coeducational college in the South.
Campbellsville University
Campbellsville University has announced the academic honors Dean’s List for the Fall 2022 semester with Corbin’s Logan Bargo making the list.
The academic honors list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours. The Fall 2022 academic honors list includes a total of 874 students, with 364 named to the President’s List for achieving a 4.0 grade point average and 510 named to the Dean’s List for achieving a 3.5 to 3.99 GPA.
Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university that offers over 100 programs including doctoral, master, bachelor, associate and certificate programs.
Georgetown College
Georgetown College has recognized 345 students who earned a place on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2022 term, including Corbin’s Brooklyn Jung. To qualify, a student must have completed the fall semester with at least 12 credit hours and a minimum 3.7 GPA.
From the list, 271 students are from Kentucky; 56 students are from other states; and 18 students are from outside the United States.
Georgetown College is a liberal arts Christian college located in Georgetown, Kentucky. Georgetown College was established in 1829, the first Baptist college west of the Allegheny Mountains.
Lincoln Memorial University
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has announced that 556 undergraduate students were placed on the Dean’s List for the fall semester of 2022. To be placed on the Dean’s List, the student must be a full-time undergraduate and have a 3.5 or higher, grade-point average for the semester.
The following local students were honored for high academic achievement including: Corbin resident Alexis Hammons, and Williamsburg residents Cameron Bowen, Sierra Taylor and Lukas Halcomb.
Lincoln Memorial University’s main campus is located in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Midway University
Midway University is pleased to announce the students who have been named to its Dean’s List for the 2022 Fall semester. To be named to the list, a student must be classified as full-time and obtain a 3.60 grade point average for the semester. There were 343 students who made the Dean’s List, including: Jessica Lockhart and Taylor Petrey of Corbin, and Jonathan Watson of Williamsburg.
Midway University is a private, co-educational institution located in Woodford County and part of the greater Lexington area. Founded in 1847, Midway University’s total enrollment (including traditional and online undergraduate, graduate and dual credit students) is more than 1,900 from across Kentucky, the U.S., and several countries.
Morehead State
Morehead State University ranks among the South’s best regional public universities for its commitment to student success, scholarship and service.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must have completed at least 12 undergraduate credit hours and earned at least a 3.5 GPA for the current semester.
Local students include:
- Corbin – Emma Rose Brock, Raynah Kelsch and Kathleen Ann Taylor.
- Rockholds – Brandon Timothy Kearney.
- Gray – Logan Walker Carnes.
Southern New Hampshire University
Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Fall 2022 President’s List. The fall terms run from September to December.
Full-time undergraduate students, who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term, are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
Local students include:
- Corbin – Daniel Dorsey, Tyler Riggs and Joseph Walters.
- Rockholds – Eric Lancaster.
- Williamsburg – James Baute and Sarah Monday.
