Local resident nabbed again for indecency
Editor’s note: The print edition of this story erroneously reported the location of the incident as Tattersall. I actually happened on Tanglewood Drive. It has been corrected for the online edition.
The 2016 serial flasher has returned to Corbin and was arrested Sunday for masturbating in a resident’s backyard on Tanglewood Drive..

Thomas Gilbert is charged with indecent exposure.
Thomas A. Gilbert, 39, told Corbin Police Officer Coy Wilson he had not exposed himself, but later said he was scratching his genitalia because he had poison ivy.
The resident, who has children ages 3 and 5, called police to report the violation, while Gilbert tried to hide in a neighbor’s out building. Police found him in the outbuilding wearing only underwear and boots.
Gilbert lives near the crime scene.
He was arrested on charges of first-degree indecent exposure, second-degree criminal trespassing and second-degree disorderly conduct.
On Tuesday, June 5, Gilbert pleaded not guilty to indecent exposure and guilty to criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
Gilbert is set to appear June 19 at 1:00 p.m. for pre-trial before Judge Cathy Prewitt in the Whitley District Court.
Gilbert was arrested in 2016, after exposing himself to two Corbin Middle School employees. He was sentenced on August 2, 2016 to 360 days in jail for first-degree indecent exposure and two counts of second-degree disorderly conduct. Because the charges were misdemeanors, he received credit for time served.
Gilbert is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center on a $1000 cash bond.
