Thank you Williamsburg and Whitley Co. for your support

Jeep Jamboree USA would like to thank the following local government and community members of Williamsburg that have made our Gateway to the Cumberlands Jeep Jamboree held on Oct. 17-19 a great success: the City of Williamsburg mayor’s office and police department, the county judge and county attorney, support and hospitality from the Whitley County community, no-profit groups who rovided Jeep wash services and Alvin Sharp and staff at the Williamsburg Tourist Center who provided our headquarters in Williamsburg. Without the strong support of the Williamsburg community, this jamboree would not be possible. This is our 14th year in Williamsburg and the people of this great community make us feel more welcome each year. We thank your community and look forward to many more years of your friendship.

Criticism of voting machines has nothing to do with poll workers

Dear Editor,

I want to give a description of what is going on with the voting machines in Whitley County. At no time have I, or any of the people I am associated with, ever found or insinuated that the pole workers were ever involved in any wrongdoing with regard to the outcome of our elections. What we do claim, along with the U.S. Government, the Kentucky Secretary State, four highly respected universities (Temple, Johns Hopkins, Stanford and Brennan), several major newspapers and television news networks, is that the Whitley County voting machines, and all other voting machines that are not assisted by a paper trail can be programmed to vote to a predetermined outcome.

The Federal Government, through the state, gave our county $4,500 per precinct to buy voting machines with a paper trail. On the April 10th, our County Court Clerk, received $162,000, along with recommendations to purchase the E-scanner machines that have a paper trail. As far as we can ascertain, no effort has been made to purchase these machines. There have been 32 counties since that date that have purchased these machines and trained there people to have them read for the 2008 election. After all the testing done by these organizations, we personally do not feel there is anyone in Whitley County qualified to over-ride this strong information.

Are we a nation of apathetic citizens

Dear Editor,

If what has happened in the past 40 years should happen in the last 40 days, would we be ashamed?
The ACLU, funded by the U.S. taxpayers is the most anti-American association in modern times. In the name of civil liberties with the power they have can strike fear in businesses, churches and individuals. They will take the side of terrorists against our government.

It is know that you can place a frog in a pan of warm water and gradually increase the heat to the degrees of cooking the frog. He will sit there and wait for death. Are we like the frog, or is it time to take a stand?
We have been at the mercy of the groups called ACORN, who deceitfully are under minding our nation for their favorite candidate.

The NRA Magazine states from the Obama objectives of past speeches and writings: He advocates prosecuting people who use guns for self-defense in the home. He wants to ban the sale of almost all hunting ammunition, plus wants a 500 percent tax on firearms and ammunition.
The erosion of our freedom is taking place. Our freedom is not free.
