Letter: Organizer of animal shelter 5k run thanks supporters
To the Editor:
The Knox/Whitley Animal Shelter had our 8th Annual Run/Walk for Homeless Animals last Saturday. The weather was beautiful and we had a wonderful turnout! We are extremely grateful for all of the support we have received from our community, staff, and our volunteers who have made it possible for us to help thousands of homeless animals have a chance to find a loving home. I would like to say a very special thank you to our wonderful sponsors: Community Trust Bank, Allergy Asthma Sinus Center, Owens, Dr. Culver and the Williamsburg Vet Clinic, Brentwood Pharmacy, Bingham Tire & Oil, Firestone, Mary-Ann Smyth, Brooklyn Brothers Pizza, Pepsi, Dr. Mark and Tammy Smith and Knox County Vet Services, Hometown Bank, Bluegrass Medical Center, Davids Steakhouse, Whitaker Bank, and Tri County Cineplex. We are so grateful for your help in making our fundraiser a success!
The Knox/Whitley Animal Shelter is located on 66 Busy Lane on 5th St. Rd in Corbin, and we take in animals free of charge and give them a chance to find a loving home because every homeless animal deserves to be loved. There is no question that animals help us and love us in so many ways, and we work tirelessly to help them every way that we can.
The most important thing all of us can do to help control the pet population is to have our pets spayed or neutered, and we are fortunate to have wonderful vets in our area who can help. Please call the shelter at 526-6925 with any questions, and come visit our wonderful animals waiting to be adopted to find a loyal forever friend and companion.
