NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE
In accordance with KRS 350, notice is hereby given that Southfork Coal Co., 2700 Lee Highway, Suite B, Bristol Virginia 24202, has applied for Phase I Bond Release on Permit No. 918-5170 which was last issued on 10-27-2020. The application covers an area of approximately 2.91 acres of surface area and underlies an additional 171.60 acres of underground area located 2.8 miles east of Hollyhill in McCreary/Whitley counties Kentucky.
The operation lies on Buck’s Branch approximately 2.1 miles southwest of State Rt. 92 intersection with State Rt. 1898 and 1.7 miles west of the confluence of Buck’s Branch and Jellico Creek. The Latitude is 36 degrees, 39 minutes, and 32 seconds, and the Longitude is 84 degrees, 17 minutes, and 37 seconds.
The bond now in effect is a surety in the amount of $75,000.00 of which approximately 60 percent of the original amount of $75,000.00 is to be included in this application for release.
Reclamation work performed included: The area was backfilled and graded which was completed on April 13, 2021, with ground cover seeding and mulching completed April 28, 2021.
Written comments, objections or request for a public hearing or informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort Kentucky 40601, by September 3, 2021.
A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for September 7, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at the Department for Natural Resources, Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965. This hearing will be cancelled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by September 3, 2021.
PUBLIC NOTICE:
The Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce d/b/a 69th Annual Nibroc Festival hereby declares its intention to apply for a Special Temporary Alcohol license no later than July 30, 2021. The licensed premises will be located at Sanders Park, 201 S. Main Street, Corbin, Kentucky, 40701 and the corner of E. Monroe Street and N. Main Street. The owner of the Sanders Park location is the Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission, Board Chairman Victor Patel, 220 Corbin Center Dr., Corbin, KY 40701. The owner of the corner of E. Monroe Street and N. Main Street is the City of Corbin, Marlon Sams, City Manager, 805 S. Main Street, Corbin, KY, 40701. Any person, association, corporation, or body politic may protest the granting of the license(s) by writing the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 500 Mero Street 2NE33, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601, within thirty (30) days of the date of legal publication.
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
Sealed proposals for the following work will be received by the Whitley County Fiscal Court in the manner, and the date here in after specified for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, services, etc., necessary for the repair and stabilization of two sites on Dal Road, with soil nails, (site A-36.72160, -84.10540) (site B – 36.71930, -84.10510) and four sites on Lower Laurel Fork Road with rail and cribbing (site A- 36.63570, -83.95430) (site B – 36.63490, -83.95750) (site C – 36.62950, -83.96570) (site E – 36.61430, -83.97230) and one site on Buck Creek Road with rail and cribbing (start GPS – 36.64950, -84.10180, End GPS – 36.65067, -84.10227). Projects on Dal Road will be bid as separate projects, sites on Lower Laurel Fork Road should be bid using the corresponding letters for each site, but as one project, project on Buck Creek Road will be bid separate from all other projects. These projects will be bid using unit pricing for materials.
Projects will be bid using the method spelled out in the specifications. Specifications, including specific materials numbers, for each repair can be found on our website at www.whitleycountyfiscalcourt.com. These projects are based on disaster funds availability.
Contractors must submit their SEALED proposals, including unit pricing, to the Whitley County Judge/Executive, at the Whitley County Courthouse, 200 Main Street Williamsburg, KY 40769 or to P.O. Box 237, Williamsburg, KY 40769 on or before 2 P.M. Monday, August 16, 2021. Proposal envelopes or packages must be clearly marked FEMA ROAD STABILIZATION on the front of the envelopes. Bids will be opened at this time and read aloud. Bids will be presented to the Whitley County Fiscal Court at the regularly scheduled Fiscal Court Meeting on August 17, 2021 at 4 P.M.
A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10 A.M. on the 2nd Floor of the Whitley County Courthouse in the Whitley County Judge/Executive’s office. ALL potential bidders MUST attend this meeting.
Contractor must provide proof of liability insurance, a bid bond equal to 10% of the bid price, and a performance bond.
Conflicts of interest, gratuities, and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445, and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.

INVITATION TO BID
The City of Corbin, Kentucky is accepting sealed bids for 95 gallon garbage carts for collection.
Specifications can be obtained from the City Clerk, located at the Corbin Government Center, 805 South Main Street, Corbin, KY 40701. Sealed bids shall be received in the office of the City Clerk no later than 3:30 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021. Bids will be opened at 11 AM on Friday, August 13, 2021, in the upstairs meeting room at the Corbin Government Center. The City of Corbin reserves the right to accept or reject any/all bids.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Public Service Commission of Kentucky issued an order on July 8, 2021, scheduling a hearing to begin on August 17, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time, in the Richard Raff Hearing Room at 211 Sower Boulevard in Frankfort, Kentucky, for the purpose of receiving public comment and cross-examining witnesses of Kentucky Utilities Company (“KU”) and Intervenors in Case No. 2020-00349, Application of KU for an Adjustment of Its Electric Rates, a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to Deploy Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Approval of Certain Regulatory and Accounting Treatments, and Establishment of a One-Year Surcredit. This hearing will be streamed live and may be viewed on the PSC website, psc.ky.gov. Public comments may be made at the beginning of the hearing.
