A petition to close a County Road has been presented to the Whitley County Fiscal Court concerning .16 miles of Rail Road Avenue. Pursuant to KRS 178.050, a second hearing for this road closure, open to all interested parties, is scheduled to convene on June 21, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. during the regular scheduled court meeting in the Whitley County Fiscal Court Room. Ky Fish and Wildlife Commission Nomination Meeting
A meeting to nominate candidates for the Ninth District representative on the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission will be held at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern) Thursday, June 16, at Shopville Elementary School Gymnasium, 10 Shopville Road, Pulaski County. Doors open at 6 p.m. The district includes Bell, Clay, Clinton, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Wayne and Whitley counties. Residents of the Ninth Wildlife District who, for the past two consecutive years, have either: purchased a Kentucky hunting or fishing license; hunted or fished in Kentucky, but were not required to purchase a license; or have registered a boat in Kentucky may participate in the nomination process. The names of up to five nominees chosen at the meeting will be submitted to Gov. Steve Beshear, who will appoint one of the nominees to a four-year term.
