BRIDGE ABUTMENTS

Mulberry Hollow Bridge

Bids will be accepted for the concrete bridge abutments for a 33’x 16’ bridge, and the installation of a premanufactured steel bridge package.  The abutments are to be built on Mulberry Hollow Road (CR1324), and the bridge passes over Little Wolf Creek, in Whitley County.

Detailed plans are available at the Whitley County Judge Executive’s office. As the steel deck has already been bid, and accepted, the contractor will disregard that portion of the plans except where it pertains to the abutments, and installation.

Contractor shall provide the Whitley County Fiscal Court proof of Liability Insurance and a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid.  All bidders must be prequalified by the Kentucky Department of Transportation.

Whitley County Road Department personnel will be responsible for demolition of existing structure and the removal of the bridge debris.

The County will procure all necessary permits prior to installation.  Whitley County Road Department will be responsible for backfilling both ends of the bridge to road grade.

Contractor will not begin work until given the release to start work. The County will give the contractor a notice to proceed after receiving the permitting, and the KYDOH Memorandum of Agreement.  Once notified to begin, the contractor will be given 90 working days to complete the project.

The Whitley County Fiscal Court reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.

Sealed bids must be at the Whitley County Judge Executive’s office no later than 10:00 pm, on Monday, June 17th 2024.  Bids will be clearly marked, Mulberry Hollow Bridge.  Bids will be opened at that time.  The bid will be awarded at the Fiscal Court meeting which begins a 4 pm, June 18th 2024.  Any questions should be directed to Jim Bates, Whitley County Director of Infrastructure, P.O. 237 Williamsburg, KY 40769, or call 606-549-6000.

 

INVITATION TO BID

The City of Corbin, Kentucky is accepting sealed bids for the construction of a 30’x40’ multi-use soccer building to accommodate concessions, storage, and a covered patio at the Tri-County Youth Soccer Fields located at the Corbin Civic Center.

Bids need to include measurements of design and total estimated cost (including labor and materials). For additional information please contact the City Clerk at 606-528-0669 or tori.brock@corbin-ky.gov.

Sealed bids shall be received in the office of the City Clerk, located at the Corbin Government Center, 805 South Main Street, Corbin, KY 40701, no later than 10 AM Wednesday, June 12th, 2024.

The bid opening will follow at 10:30 AM in the upstairs meeting room at the Corbin Government Center.

The Housing Authority of Williamsburg, (HAW), will receive sealed bids for 3 apartment Restoration/Service/Remodel from qualified contractors until 10:00 am local prevailing time on June 20, 2024, at the office of the Housing Authority of Williamsburg located at 600 Brush Arbor Road, Williamsburg, KY 40769 at which time and place, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 918-0504 AM-3

In accordance with KRS 350.070 notice is hereby given that Alden Resources LLC 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for a permit for an amendment to an existing permit for a surface, auger/highwall coal mining and reclamation operation. The amendment will add 70.86 surface acres and 104.64 Auger/HWM acres affecting 574.42 acres located 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox Counties.

The proposed amendment area is approximately 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox County Kentucky, and is approximately 0.64 miles east of KY 1064 junction with Terrell Hollow Road.

The proposed amendment is located on the Rockholds, KY 7½ minute quadrangle map.  The amendment area will use a combination of contour, and auger/highwall miner methods of surface mining.  The surface mining area to be disturbed by the amendment is owned by Bobby Joe Terrell, Sherrie Grant, David Beller, Verna Dcker and Brian Elliott.

This is the final advertisement of the application. All comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be received within thirty (30) days of today’s date.
