The Whitley County Health Department will be taking sealed bids on:

All vehicles/items are sold as is.
Vehicles can be viewed upon request Monday-Friday 8:00am – 4:00 pm.
Sealed bids are to be turned into the Williamsburg Office of the Whitley County Health Department by 12:00 noon on Friday, June 9, 2023.
Please write the item or vehicle year/color/make/model on the outside of the sealed bid envelope.
Vehicles/items are to be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or money order and picked up by Monday, June 19, 2023.

NOTICE:
In accordance with 702 KAR 4:180, the Whitley County Board of Education school district will conduct a Public Forum on June 8, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at Whitley County Board of Education, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769, with the Local Planning Committee meeting to follow. The public is invited to share thoughts and opinions regarding the District Facility Plan.
REQUEST FOR BID
The Whitley County Fiscal Court will be accepting sealed bids for Asphalt Material (Surface, Binder & Base), Culvert (Plastic & Metal), Stone, RS-2 Oil, Cold Patch and On and Off Road Fuel. Bids will be accepted up to and opened in the Whitley County Fiscal Court Room at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023. Bids will be awarded during the regular session of the Whitley County Fiscal Court on June 20, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
Beginning May 31, 2023, bid sheets can be picked up at the Whitley County Judge/Executive’s Office, downloaded from the Whitley County Fiscal Court’s website at www.whitleycountyfiscalcourt.com or contact the office at (606) 549-6000. Mark envelopes as noted in Request for Bid.
Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.
Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County reserves the right to award bid based upon availability, service and in the best interest for the public safety for the citizens of the County. Whitley County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
The Whitley County Fiscal Court may make purchase(s) using funds received under the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program pursuant to the American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”). The use of ARPA funds for purchases obligates the bidder or seller to comply with certain terms and conditions, program regulations, without limitation, set forth in 2 C.F.R., Part 200, and other applicable law. Any selected bidder will be required to execute a purchase agreement including, without limitation, a requirement that such bidder will adhere to the requirements attached to ARPA funds.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE FOLLOWING SERVICES WILL BE RECEIVED BY THE WHITLEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT IN THE MANNER AND ON THE DATE SPECIFIED FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, MEDICINE, SUPPLIES AND SERVICES NECESSARY FOR PROVIDING FULL TIME MEDICAL SERVICE TO THE WHITLEY COUNTY DETENTION CENTER.
PROVIDERS MUST SUBMIT THEIR SEALED BIDS TO THE WHITLEY COUNTY JUDGE/EXECUTIVE AT THE WHITLEY COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 200 MAIN STREET, WILLIAMSBURG, KY 40769 OR P.O. BUDGET HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED USE OF COUNTY ROAD AID AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE (LGEA) FUNDS.
A public hearing will be held by Whitley County Fiscal Court at the Old Courthouse in the Whitley County Fiscal Courtroom on June 13th, 2023 at 10:00 am, for the purpose of obtaining citizen’s comments regarding the possible uses of County Road Aid (CRA) and Local Government Economic Assistance (LGEA) funds.
All interested persons in Whitley County are invited to the hearing to submit verbal or written comments on possible uses of the CRA and LGEA funds. Any person(s) who cannot submit written comments or attend the public hearing, but wish to submit comments, should call the Office of the County Judge/Executive at the Whitley County Fiscal Court by 9:00 am, so that arrangements can be made to secure their comments.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE
Pursuant to Application Number 918-0504 AM-2
In accordance with KRS 350.070 notice is hereby given that Alden Resources LLC 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for a permit for an amendment to an existing permit for a surface, auger/highwall coal mining and reclamation operation. The amendment will add 80.23 surface acres and 90.65 Auger/HWM acres affecting 503.56 acres located 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox Counties.
The proposed amendment area is approximately 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox County Kentucky, and is approximately 0.64 miles east of KY 1064 junction with Terrell Hollow Road.
The proposed amendment is located on the Rockholds, KY 7½ minute quadrangle map. The amendment area will use a combination of contour, and auger/highwall miner methods of surface mining. The surface mining area to be disturbed by the amendment is owned by Freda Mae Brock, Garry Jr. & Amber Inman, Vickie Sams, George Williams & Judy Burns, Brian Elliott, Rita Singleton, & Ella McCreary, Harold Grant, Jerry McKinley, Gary Grant, Ray Decker, Arthur Foley, Verna Decker, and Kristina Hensley.
The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Surface Mining and Reclamation and Enforcement’s, Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965-1229.
