Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, services, and equipment for the 2024 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, will be received by the Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport at 1000 Aviation Blvd., Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769 until 11:00 a.m. EDT on June 14, 2024, and at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed bids submitted prior to the bid opening should be sent to Don Stricklin at the above given address. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of the submittal envelope with a minimum of the Contractor’s name and address, project name, and the date and opening time. Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened.
The project includes but is not limited to erosion control remediation efforts to address erosion issues at the specified locations. These efforts include a heavy-duty erosion control blanket, excavation, seeding and protection, drainage pipe, and fence repair will also be involved.
Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier’s or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the Owner, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, June 3rd, 2024, at Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport at 1000 Aviation Blvd., Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769.
Plans, specifications, and contract documents may be viewed and purchased through Lynn Imaging Plan room on Friday, May 24th, 2024.
All questions related to the contract documents shall be directed to Dwight Clayton, PE at American Engineers, Inc. at dwight.clayton@stvinc.com. Addendums to the bid package will be issued through Lynn Imaging.
The Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport Board will evaluate all submitted bids and reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to reject nonconforming, nonresponsive, or conditional bids.
Bids must remain in effect for 60 days after the bid opening date.
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for construction of the Corbin Bypass Sewer Extension, together with all related work as specified, will be received by the City Utilities Commission at its offices at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701 until 2:00 pm (local time) on Friday, June 7, 2024, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
The project consists of approximately 2,600 feet of 10” gravity sewer, 11 sewer manholes, a steel encasement bore under KY 3041, tie-ins to existing sewer lines, and associated appurtenances.

Upon review of the above requested information and after a determination that the prospective bidder is satisfactory to the City Utilities Commission, the prospective bidder will be approved to submit a bid for the project. Any bid submitted by a contractor that is not prequalified by the City Utilities Commission will not be accepted.

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of JMT, 109 South 24th Street, Middlesboro, KY 40965, upon a non-refundable payment of $200.00 per set. Bidders must purchase the contract documents from the Engineer and payment shall be made via check in the name of the Bidder. Documents purchased by one party and bid by another party will not be accepted.
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to ensure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the City Utilities Commission within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City Utilities Commission as liquidated damages for the failure to do so.
Federal wage and hour (Davis-Bacon) provisions DO NOT APPLY to this project.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids.
City Utilities Commission reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.
Award of the Contract will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder.

WHITLEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT
REQUEST FOR BID
The Whitley County Fiscal Court will be accepting sealed bids for Asphalt Material (Surface, Binder & Base), Culvert (Plastic & Metal), Stone, RS-2 Oil, Cold Patch and On and Off Road Fuel. Bids will be accepted up to and opened in the Whitley County Fiscal Court Room at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024. Bids will be awarded during the regular session of the Whitley County Fiscal Court on June 18, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
Beginning May 29, 2024, bid sheets can be picked up at the Whitley County Judge/Executive’s Office, downloaded from the Whitley County Fiscal Court’s website at www.whitleycountyfiscalcourt.com or contact the office at (606) 549-6000. Mark envelopes as noted in Request for Bid.
Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

In accordance with KRS 350.070 notice is hereby given that Alden Resources LLC 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for a permit for an amendment to an existing permit for a surface, auger/highwall coal mining and reclamation operation. The amendment will add 70.86 surface acres and 104.64 Auger/HWM acres affecting 574.42 acres located 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox Counties.
The proposed amendment area is approximately 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox County Kentucky, and is approximately 0.64 miles east of KY 1064 junction with Terrell Hollow Road.
The proposed amendment is located on the Rockholds, KY 7½ minute quadrangle map. The amendment area will use a combination of contour, and auger/highwall miner methods of surface mining. The surface mining area to be disturbed by the amendment is owned by Bobby Joe Terrell, Sherrie Grant, David Beller, Verna Dcker and Brian Elliott.
The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Surface Mining and Reclamation and Enforcement’s, Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965-1229. Written comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, 2nd Floor Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
