NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

You are hereby notified that the Board of Zoning Adjustment for the City of Williamsburg, Kentucky will hold a public hearing to consider the application filed by Jennifer L. Martin for a variance from the zoning regulations to construct & operate a pet grooming and boarding business located at 123 Colan Court in an R2 Zone. The hearing will be held on the 31st day of May, 2022 at 5:30 pm at the Williamsburg City Hall Council Chambers.  The public is invited to attend.

PUBLIC NOTICE

An Ordinance amending the Whitley County Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-2022, to include unanticipated receipts increasing/decreasing from various Funds in the amount of $478,047.00 and increasing/decreasing expenditures from the various Funds in the amount of $478,047.00 was passed on 05/17/22. A copy of the Ordinance with full text is available for public inspection at the Office of the County Judge Executive during normal business hours.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 918-0461 Renewal 1

In accordance with the provisions of KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that American Highwall Mining, LLC,  212 Kendall Ave. Chilhowie, Virginia 24319, has applied for renewal of an existing surface mining and auger coal mining and reclamation operation located 0.12 mile northwest of Woodbine, in Whitley County.

The renewal operation is approximately 0.80 miles west from the intersection of KY. Hwy, 3041 and KY. Hwy 26 located 0.80 miles northwest of the confluence of Eaton Branch and Lynn Camp Branch. The renewal will have 121.00 acres of surface disturbance within the permit boundary.

The operation is located on the Corbin – U.S.G.S. 7½ minute quadrangle map.  The surface area to be disturbed is owned by Pennington Farms, LLC, and Jimmy J. and Glenna C. Shackleford.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Middlesboro Regional Office, Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965-1229. Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.

NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE

Permit # 918-0497

In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that Alden Resources LLC, 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, KY 40701, has filed for a Phase I Bond Release on Increment 2 of permit number 918-0497 which was last issued on 06/08/2021. The application covers an area of approximately 145.56 acres located approximately 0.11 miles southwest of KY 779 junction with KY 26 and located 0.15 miles southwest of the confluence of Browns Creek with Watts Creek and 01.5 miles east of Williamsburg in Whitley County Kentucky. The bond now in effect is:

Increment two (2) is a Surety Bond in the amount of $172,500.00 Approximately 60% of the original bond amount of $172,500.00 is included in this application for release.

Reclamation work performed includes: Backfilling, re-grading, topsoil replacement, and drainage control including soil preparation and initial seeding and mulching in accordance with the approved reclamation plan, completed April 2021.

Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing of informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, 300 Sower Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Frankfort, KY 40601, by 07/01/2022.

A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for 07/05/2022 at 9:00 am the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965-1229. The hearing will be cancelled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by 07/01/2022.
