INVITATION TO BID
The Corbin Board of Education will accept sealed proposals for Auditor (CPA) for the financial accounts of the Corbin Independent School District for fiscal year 2022-2023. Proposal forms can be obtained at the Corbin Board of Education, 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, Corbin, Kentucky 40701, Monday through Friday during regular office hours from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. All proposals to be considered must be received by Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 2:00pm. Proposals received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened to the bidder. The Corbin Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities. The City of Corbin, Kentucky is accepting sealed bids for the following items/services for fiscal year July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024:
- Blacktop
- Cell/mobile phone service
- Landfill
- Stone
Specifications can be obtained from and bids shall be received at the Corbin Government Center, Office of the City Clerk, 805 South Main Street, Corbin, KY 40701, until 10 AM, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Bids will be opened at 11 AM on April 19, 2023, in the upstairs meeting room at the Corbin Government Center. The City of Corbin reserves the right to accept or reject any/all bids.
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
The Whitley County Fiscal Court is currently seeking bids for the purchase of one (1) 2022 Dodge Ram SSV and emergency equipment with immediate delivery. Bids for vehicles and emergency equipment mush be made together.

Vendors must submit their SEALED proposals to the Whitley County Judge/Executive, at the Whitley County Courthouse, 200 Main Street Williamsburg, KY 40769 or to P.O. Box 237, Williamsburg, KY 40769 on or before 10 A.M. Monday, April 17, 2023. Proposal envelopes or packages must be clearly marked SHERIFF’S VEHICLES on the front of the envelopes. Bid packets received after this time will be returned unopened to the vendor. Bids will be opened at this time and read aloud. Bids will be presented to the Whitley County Fiscal Court at the Regular Meeting of the Fiscal Court Meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 4 p.m.
Conflicts of interest, gratuities, and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445, and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.
Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality, and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County reserves the right to award bids based upon availability, service and in the best interest and safety for the citizens of the county. Whitley County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
The Whitley County Fiscal Court may make purchase(s) using funds received under the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program pursuant to the American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”). The use of ARPA funds for purchases obligates the bidder or seller to comply with certain terms and conditions, program regulations, without limitation, set forth in 2 C.F.R, Part 200, and other applicable law. Any selected bidder will be required to execute a purchase agreement including, without limitation, a requirement that such bidder will adhere to the requirements attached to ARPA funds.
NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE
In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that American Highwall Mining, LLC, 212 Kendall Avenue, Chilhowie, Virginia 24319 has applied for Phase I Bond Release on Increment Nos. 3 of Permit Number 918-0434, which was last issued on February 23, 2022. Increment No. 3 covers an area of approximately 22.0 acres located 1.2 miles east of the junction of the Jack’s Fork Road and KY Rt. 26 & 1.0 miles Southeast of Rockholds in Whitley County.
The permit is approximately 0.1 miles south of Helton Hollow. The latitude is 36° 48’ 28”. The longitude is 84° 06’ 15”.
The bond now in effect for Increment No. 3 of Permit Number 918-0434 is a Cash Bond and Certificate of Deposit in the total amount of fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000.00), which sixty (60%) of the bond at fifty thousand dollars ($55,000.00), is being requested for release.
Reclamation work performed on Increment No. 3 includes: backfilling, final grading and seeding completed in June 2019.
Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing or informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, 300 Sower Blvd. 2nd Floor, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, by May 26, 2023.
A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for May 30, 2033 at 9:00a.m. at the Department for Natural Resource’s Middlesboro Regional Office located at 1804 Cumberland Ave., Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965. The hearing will be canceled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by May 26, 2023.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Public Service Commission of Kentucky issued an order on March 31, 2023, scheduling a hearing to be held on April 12, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time, in the Richard Raff Hearing Room of the Commission’s offices located at 211 Sower Boulevard in Frankfort, Kentucky, for the purpose of cross-examination
of witnesses in Case No. 2022-00371. This is in the Matter of an Electronic Tariff Filing of Kentucky Utilities Company for Approval of an Economic Development Rider Special Contract with Bitiki-KY, LLC.
