THE WHITLEY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION IS NOW ACCEPTING SEALED BIDS ON THE FOLLOWING SURPLUS ITEMS:
- Ten (10) Lincoln Electric AC/DC 225/125 Stick Welders (Minimum $100 bid per item)
- One (1) CNC Plasma table (Minimum $4,000 bid)

Please visit the district website, www.whitley.kyschools.us to view pictures, of the above listed items. The items will be sold as items, one through eleven, on the complete bid list. Please contact Jack Lawson at 606-549-7000, extension 2047 to obtain the complete bid list. Your sealed bid must be labeled “SURPLUS PROPERTY BID” and include the item number, the amount of your bid, along with your name, address, phone number, and email address. Submit your sealed bid to the Whitley County Board of Education, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769, during regular office hours from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Bid deadline is 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, and bids will be opened at WCBOE, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY. Bids received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened to the bidder. The Whitley County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities. Successful bidder must remove items from the property by March 18, 2022.

Person(s) or Agency must submit their SEALED mailed bids or submit them to the Whitley County Judge/Executive at the Whitley County Courthouse, P.O. Box 237, Williamsburg, Kentucky, on or before 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at which time bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids will then be presented to the Fiscal Court at the regular scheduled meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. All bids shall be marked “SURPLUS PROPERTY—SHERIFF VEHICLES” on front of envelope.
The surplus property is available for inspection located at the Old Williamsburg Post Office at 210 Sycamore Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769, in the parking lot behind the building. These vehicles can be viewed 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. To view these vehicles, please call 606-549-6000 or 606-549-6006 during the above hours to set up a time to view.
Payment from the recipient(s) awarded the Bid shall be made with the County Treasurer. Removal of the vehicles/equipment shall be the responsibility of the recipient of the BID and shall have until 3:30 PM on Thursday, March 31, 2022, to remove all vehicles or equipment.
Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 60 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.
Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
NOTICE OF JUDICIAL SALE
Pursuant to an Order of Sale entered in United States vs. William G Tye III and Stefani R. Tye, Civil Action No. 6:19-cv-268, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky Southern Division London, the United States will offer for sale at public auction, to the highest bidder, according to law and pursuant to the terms and conditions set in herein, the property described below:

Sale Location: Front steps of the Whitley County Courthouse 200 Main Street Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769. All prospective bidders will be required to wear a mask and maintain a social distance.

Form of Payment: All payments must be by Certified or Cashier’s Check made payable to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE:
No bid (except for bids made by the United States) shall be accepted by the IRS, unless the same is accompanied by a certified check or cashier’s check, in the minimum amount of $8,497.02, made payable to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Before being permitted to bid at the sale, all bidders shall display to the IRS proof that they are able comply with this requirement. No bids will be received from any person who has not presented proof that, if he or she is the successful bidder, he or she can make the deposit required by the Order.
The successful bidder shall tender the balance of the purchase price, in certified funds payable to the United States District Court, at the office of the IRS on or before May 24, 2022.
In the event the successful bidder defaults on any of the terms contained in the Order, the deposit shall be forfeited and retained by the IRS as part of the proceeds of sale, and the real property shall again be offered for sale, without further permission of the Court, under the terms and conditions of the Order, or, in the alternative the real property shall be sold to the second highest bidder.
The United States may bid as a creditor against its judgments without tender of cash.
The sale of the real property shall be subject to confirmation by the Court. Upon confirmation of the sale and receipt of the entire purchase price, the Court shall issue and the IRS shall deliver to the purchaser, a deed conveying the real property to the purchaser. Upon confirmation of the sale, all interests in, liens against, or claims to, the real property that are or may be asserted by any of the parties to this action are discharged and extinguished.
The United States reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to withdraw the property from sale.
