INVITATION TO BID

Corbin Board of Education Blacktop Bid & Installation

The Corbin Board of Education will receive separate sealed bids for blacktop and installation, as needed at district locations.  Please contact Cristie Johnson or Mac Walden at the Corbin Board of Education at 606-528-1303 to obtain the bid specifications.  Bid specifications are available at Corbin Board of Education, 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, or at the Board Annex at 311 Barbourville St. Corbin, KY 40701 during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Bid deadline is 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2023.  Bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Corbin Annex.  Bids received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened to the bidder.  The Corbin Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or proposals, and to waive informalities.

LEGAL NOTICE

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, services, and equipment for the REIL REPLACEMENT PROJECT, will be received by the Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport at 1000 Aviation Blvd., Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769 until February 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm Eastern Time, and at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed bids submitted prior to the bid opening should be sent to Don Stricklin at the above given address. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of the submittal envelope with a minimum of the Contractor’s name and address, project name, and the date and opening time. Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened.

The project includes but is not limited to replacing the existing REIL’s located at each end of the runway including minor conduit and cabling shown on the plans and indicated in the specifications.

Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier’s or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the Owner, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract.

Plans, specifications, and contract documents may be obtained electronically through contacting Scott Hammond at American Engineers, Inc. at shammond@aei.cc , on or after February 15, 2023. All questions related to the contract documents shall be directed to Scott Hammond at American Engineers, Inc. at shammond@aei.cc.

The Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport Board will evaluate all submitted bids and reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to reject nonconforming, nonresponsive, or conditional bids.

Bids must remain in effect for 60 days after the bid opening date.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 918-0509 Renewal #1

In accordance with the provisions of KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Mountainside Coal Co. Inc. 5540 KY 1809 Barbourville, KY 40906, has applied for a renewal of a permit for a surface coal mining and reclamation operation affecting 38.0 acres located 0.8 miles north of Faber in Whitley County.

The operation is located 0.8 miles north of Faber in Whitley County. It is approximately 0.75 miles west from KY 26’s intersection with Eaton Fork Road and located 0.5 miles south of Eaton Fork. The latitude 36 53 29, and longitude 84 07 51.

The operation is located on the Vox U.S.G.S 7 1/2 minute quadrangle map.  The surface and mineral area to be disturbed is owned by Arlene and Jesse Middleton.

The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Natural Resources, Middlesboro Regional Office, Division of Mine Reclamation & Enforcement, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Ky 40965-1229. Written comments or objections must be filed with the Director, Division of Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Frankfort, KY 40601.
