IIn accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Kopper Glo Mining, LLC, 1197 Rock Creek Road, Clairfield, TN 37715 has applied for a permit for a surface coal mining and reclamation operation affecting 316.98 acres located 0.98 miles southeast of Siler in Whitley County.
The proposed operation is approximately 0.13 miles northeast from KY 92 junction with KY 1595 and located 0.09 miles north of Poplar Creek. The Latitude is 36° 40’ 55”. The Longitude is 83° 57’ 00”.
The proposed operation is located on the Frakes U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle map. The operation will use the surface area, contour and auger/highwall miner methods of surface mining. The surface area is owned by Penn Virginia Operating Co., LLC, Darrell & Susan Reynolds, Tommy Stewart and EC & Irene Lawson. The operation will affect an area within 100 feet of public road Lawson Cemetery Road. The operation will not involve relocation or closure of the public road.

All comments, objections or request for a permit conference must be received within thirty days of today’s date.The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue; Middlesboro, KY 40965. Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.

Pursuant to Section 324, Title III of the 1986 Federal Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986 (PL 99-499), the following information is provided in compliance with the Community Right-To-Know requirements of the SARA Law, and the open meetings and open records provisions of Kentucky Revised Statutes. ATTENTION WHITLEY COUNTY TAXPAYERS
Due to the change in Sheriffs, the 2018 Property Tax Collection will be suspended approximately the first 7-10 days in January 2019 for Auditing Purposes. The last day to collect taxes under the current Sheriff is Friday, December 28, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
This is so the unpaid taxes can be transferred from the outgoing Sheriff to the new incoming Sheriff.
Please keep in mind the Face Amount will be extended 1 extra day and the 5% Penalty Amount will be extended the same number of days that the tax collections are suspended.
Also, keep in mind, the Sheriff Department will be closed December 24th, 25th, 26th, and 31st of 2018 and January 1st of 2019.
