Pursuant to 405 KAR 8:010, Section 16(5), the following is a summary of permitting decisions made by the Department for Natural Resources, Division of Mine Permits with respect to applications to conduct surface coal mining and reclamation operations in Whitley County. NOTICE:
Collection of the 2010 Whitley County property tax bills will be suspended beginning at the close of business on December 31, 2010 to allow for an orderly transfer of records between the outgoing and incoming sheriffs. KRS 134.215 allows for collections to be suspended for up to 15 calendar days. However, if the full amount of time is needed for the transition, since January 15th is a Saturday and Monday, January 17th is a legal holiday, collections will resume no later than Tuesday, January 18, 2011. The time to pay the amount shown as payable during the month of January on your tax bill will be extended for the same number of days as collections are suspended. Please watch for another advertisement that will announce when collections will again be accepted by the Whitley County Sheriff’s office.
