INVITATION TO BID – SALE OF SURPLUS ITEMS

The Corbin Board of Education has declared various pieces of technology, maintenance, and Food Service equipment as surplus property and will receive separate sealed bids for these items.

Please contact Kristy McKiddy, Mac Walden or Lisa Wine at the Corbin Board of Education at 606-528-1303 to obtain a list of the items. To see the Items, interested parties may contact the Central Office at 606-528-1303 between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

Your sealed bid must be labeled “Surplus Sale Bid Enclosed” and include the item number(s) and description of the items you want to bid on, the amount of your bid, along with your name, address, and phone number. Bids for lots of items will be accepted as well. All bids should designate whether the amount offered is for a lot, or an individual item.

Submit your sealed bid to the Corbin Board of Education, Attn: Rhonda Moore, 108 Roy Kidd Avenue, Corbin, KY 40701 during regular office hours from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Bid Deadline is 10:00am on Wednesday December 1, 2021. Bids received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened to the bidder. The Corbin Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities.

PUBLIC NOTICE:

RE:  Public Service Commission of Kentucky (CASE NO. 2021-00413)

Public Notice is hereby given that East Kentucky Network, LLC, dba Appalachian Wireless has applied to the Kentucky Public Service Commission to construct a replacement cellular telecommunications tower on a tract of land located 364 Owens Radio Road, Corbin, Whitley County, Kentucky.  The proposed tower will be a 300 foot self-supporting tower with attached antennas.  If you would like to respond to this notice, please contact the Executive Director, Public Service Commission, 211 Sower Boulevard, PO Box 615, Frankfort, Kentucky 40602.  Please refer to Case No. 2021-00413.

NOTICE OF BLASTING SCHEDULE

Permit # 918-0469

Alden Resources LLC, 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701; telephone (606) 523-9760, shall conduct blasting operations on its 229.52 acre surface mine permit, located approximately 0.67 miles southwest of Gausdale in Whitley County.

The proposed operation is approximately 0.36 miles north from KY Highway 11’s junction with KY Highway 92 and located 0.38 miles north of the confluence of Buffalo Creek with Poplar Creek.

The latitude is 36° 44’ 21” and the longitude is 83° 59’ 23”.  The surface area on which blasting operations will be conducted is owned by Brenda Lambdin, Virginia Hansford, Stella Rice, Roy Lee Car, Raymond Croley, Roscoe Croley, Daniel Rice and Donald Smith.

Blasting will be conducted each day Monday through Saturday during daylight hours.  No blasting will be conducted after official sunset.  This schedule shall be in effect from November 2021 to November 2012.

Any major alterations to the blasting schedule will be published.  Unscheduled blasting may occur in emergency situations when rain, lightning or other atmospheric conditions or operator or public safety requires unscheduled detonation.  The nearby residents will be notified of the unscheduled blast by using audible signals and the blast shall then proceed as a regular blast.  Entry to the blasting area will be regulated by signs or barriers.  An authorized company representative will prohibit access to the blasting area by unauthorized persons at least five (5) minutes before each detonation and until the all clear signal is sounded.  Warning signals will be made by using a siren in the following manner:

WARNING SIGNAL – A one (1) minute series of long blasts five (5) minutes prior to the blast signal.

BLAST SIGNAL – A series of short blasts one (1) minute prior to the detonation.

ALL CLEAR SIGNAL – A prolonged blast following the inspection of the blast area.

These signals will be audible within one half mile of the blasting site.  This notice is published pursuant to CFR 715.19 Surface Mining and Reclamation and Enforcement Provisions and KRS 350.220 and the regulations relating thereto.  The Kentucky DMRE Permit Number is 918-0469.

NOTICE:

Pam Smith has filed the final settlement for the estate of Ruby Nance (deceased). The settlement hearing will be held on 12/20/2021 at 10:00 AM.

Exceptions, if any, must be filed prior to December 1st, 2021.

The hearing will be held at Whitley District Court, 100 Main Street, Courtroom D, Williamsburg, KY 40769.
