NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE
Pursuant to Application 918-0415, Renewal
In accordance with the provisions of KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that D & H Coal Company of Laurel County, Inc., P. O. Box 1016, Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769 has applied for renewal of a permit for a surface coal mining and reclamation operation affecting 58.4 surface acres located 1.0 mile west of the community of Faber in Whitley County.
The proposed operation is approximately 0.1 mile northwest from the junction of KY Route 26 and Faber Corinth Road and located 0.3 miles west of Watts Creek. The proposed operation is located on the Wofford and Vox U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle maps. The operation will use the area, remining and auger methods of surface mining. The surface area is owned by Cumberland College and Carl & Virginia Smith.
The application has been filed for public inspection at the Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 E. Cumberland Ave., Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965. Written comments or objections must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, #2 Hudson Hollow Complex, U.S. 127 South, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE
In accordance with the provisions of KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that Monties Resources, LLC, 4184 S HWY. 25W Williamsburg, KY. 40769 has applied for a Phase I Bond Release on Increment No. 2 of Permit No. 918-0408 which was last issued on 3-10-2009. This application covers an area of approximately 12.58 surface acres located approximately 0.1 miles south of Corn Creek in Whitley County, Kentucky. The permit is approximately 0.4 miles southwest of Corn Creek McNeil Hollow Roads junction with State Route 1064 and located approximately 0.5 miles SE of Corn Creek Church.
A cash bond is now in effect for this increment in the amount of: $32,000.00. Approximately sixty (60%) percent of this total original bond amount of $32,000.00 is requested to be released in this request for a Phase One Bond Release.
As of April 9, 2010 Increment No. 2 had been backfilled and graded to the approved final slope configuration, with all surface disturbed areas seeded, and mulched.
Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing must be submitted to the Dept. for Natural Resources; Director, Division of Field Services, #2 Hudson Hollow, Frankfort, KY 40601, by 7-9-2010. A public hearing has been scheduled for 10:00 AM on 7-12-2010 at the Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 E. Cumberland Ave. Middlesboro, KY 40965.
This hearing will be cancelled if the cabinet does not receive a request in writing for the public hearing by 7-9-2010.

Budget hearing regarding proposed use of County Road Aid, Municipal Road Aid and Local Government Economic Assistance Funds
A public hearing will be held by the Whitley County Fiscal Court at the courthouse on June 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM till 11:30 AM in the Fiscal Court Room for the purpose of obtaining citizens comments regarding the possible uses of the County Road Aid (CRA) and Local Government Economic Assistance (LGEA) Funds. All interested persons in Whitley County are invited to the hearing to submit oral or written comments on possible uses of the CRA and LGEA Funds. Any person(s) who cannot submit comments, should call the Office of the County Judge Executive at (606) 549-6000 by June 2, 2010 so that arrangements can be made to secure their comments.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Public Service Commission of Kentucky will hold a hearing on June 8, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time, in Hearing Room 1 of the Commission’s offices, located at 211 Sower Boulevard in Frankfort, Kentucky, for the purpose of cross-examining witnesses of Kentucky Utilities Company (“KU”) and Intervenors in Case No. 2009-00548, which is the Application of KU for an Adjustment of Base Rates.
