CITY OF WILLIAMSBURG BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Board of Zoning Adjustments of the City of Williamsburg will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 5:00 p.m. at the Williamsburg Tourism Center, located at 650 S 10th Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, to consider the application of Hollis Construction and Metal Sales of Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769 for a conditional use permit to construct a 10 foot building 12’x12’ office building and a 20’x87’ storage building 18 feet high on property located at Savoy Clear Creek Road near Calvary Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Ky.

The Whitley County Board of Education is now accepting sealed bids on the following items: (1) A six kilowatt solid state A.M. radio transmitter and (2) an automatic tuning unit for matching 5.7 kilowatt transmitter output on 1430 KHZ to unipole fed tower.

Bids will be opened at the Whitley County Board of Education on Monday, May 10, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

 

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE, Pursuant to Application 918-0424

In accordance with the provisions of KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that B&B Energy, LLC, P.O. Box 1016, Williamsburg, KY 40769, has applied for a permit for a surface coal mining operation, located 7.6 miles southwest of Barbourville in Knox and Whitley Counties, Kentucky. The proposed permit area will disturb 53.0 acres and underlie 0 acres, for a total area within the permit boundary of 53.0 acres. The proposed operation is located approximately 0.5 miles east of the junction of County Road 1530 and Owens Cemetery Road. The proposed operation is located 0.3 miles east of Owens Branch.

The proposed operation is located on the Barbourville U.S.G.S. 7 1/2 minute quadrangle map. The permit surface area to be disturbed is owned by Roy Baker, Myra Sizemore and Star Miller.

The operation will affect an area within 100 feet of Miller Town Road. The operation will not involve relocation and/or closure of the public road.

This is the final advertisement of this permit application. All comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be received within thirty (30) days of today’s date. The application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Natural Resources’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 Cumberland Ave., Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS

On January 29, 2010, Kentucky Utilities Company (“KU”) and Louisville Gas and Electric Company (“LG&E”) filed with the Public Service Commission of Kentucky an Application for an Adjustment of Base Rates (KU Case No. 2009-00548 and LG&E Case No. 2009-00549). The Public Service Commission of Kentucky will hold four (4) Public Meetings to provide an opportunity for ratepayers who would be affected by any increases to speak directly to the Commission at the following locations on the dates and times noted: Harlan, Kentucky

Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. proposes a new Pipe Replacement Program tariff.  Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. also proposes a change to the Gas Cost Recovery tariff that provides recovery of Uncollectible Gas Costs through the GCR mechanism.  Copies of the proposals may be obtained by contacting Emily P. Bennett, Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc., at 3617 Lexington Road, Winchester, Kentucky 40391, 859-744-6171, Ext. 116. The foregoing rates reflect an annual proposed increase in revenues of approximately 11.54% to Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc.  The estimated amount of annual increase per customer class is as follows:  Residential GS: $ 3,539,053, 15.8%; Small Non-Residential GS: $ 593,368, 9.2%; Large Non-Residential GS: $ 668,718, 7.3%; Interruptible:  $ 0, 0%; On-System Transportation: $ 261,259, 6.3%; Off-System Transportation: $ 253,030,7.4%. The average monthly bill for each customer class to which the proposed rates will apply will increase approximately as follows:

The rates contained in this notice are the rates proposed by Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc.; however, the Public Service Commission may order rates to be charged that differ from the proposed rates contained in this notice.

Notice is further given that any corporation, association, body politic or person with a substantial interest in the matter may by written request, within thirty (30) days after publication of the notice of the proposed rate changes, request to intervene.  The motion shall be submitted to the Public Service Commission, 211 Sower Boulevard, P. O. Box 615, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, and shall set forth the grounds for the request, including the status and interest of the party.  Intervention may be granted beyond the thirty (30) day period for good cause shown.  Any person who has been granted intervention may obtain copies of the application and any other filings made by the utility by contacting Emily P. Bennett, Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc., 3617 Lexington Road, Winchester, Kentucky 40391, 859-744-6171, Ext. 116.

A copy of the application and testimony shall be available for public inspection at the offices of Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. or the Public Service Commission, 211 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky.

A copy of this Notice and the proposed tariffs, once filed, shall also be available for public inspection on the website of Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. at www.deltagas.com.
