REQUEST FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
BEFORE THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT
OF THE CITY OF WILLIAMSBURG, KENTUCKY
Pursuant to KRS Chapter 100, the Board of Zoning Adjustment of the City of Williamsburg, Kentucky, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at the City Council Room located in Williamsburg City Hall, 423 Main Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769, concerning a request by Vicki Settles for the issuance of a conditional use permit to operate a beauty salon out of her home at 99 Cardinal Heights, Williamsburg, Kentucky. The attendance and comments of citizens of the City of Williamsburg at this public hearing would be appreciated. The application for the conditional use permit may be inspected in the office of Mayor and will be available for review at the public hearing. Immediately following the conclusion of the public hearing, the Board will hold its’ meeting to make findings of fact and approve or disapprove the request for the issuance of a conditional use permit.
PUBLIC NOTICE
A public hearing will be held by the City of Williamsburg at City Hall on June 15, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. for the purpose of obtaining written or oral comments regarding the proposed use of Municipal Road Aid and Local Government Economic Assistance Program funds for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2017-2018.
MUNICIPAL ROAD AID PROGRAM: Anticipated Receipts $103,627.00
LOCAL GOVERNMENT ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE: Anticipated Receipts $ 24,000.00
Public Inspection: The city’s proposed budget and proposed uses of Municipal Road Aid and Local Government Economic Assistance program funds are available for public inspection at City Hall during normal business hours.
Interested persons and organizations in Williamsburg, Kentucky are invited to the public hearing to submit written or oral comments on the uses of the Municipal Road and Local Government Economic Assistance Funds.
Any person (especially senior citizens and handicapped persons) who can not submit written comments or attend the public meeting, but wish to submit comments should call City Hall at (606) 549-6035 so that the city can make arrangements to secure their comments.
NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE
In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that Mountainside Coal Co., Inc., 7692 S. HWY 25W, Williamsburg, KY 40769 has applied for a Phases I Bond Release on Increments 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 of Permit Number 861-0528. The application covers an area of Approximately 318 acres of surface area located approximately twelve (12) miles northeast of the city of Williamsburg, KY and 1 mile east of the confluence of Flat Creek and Meadow Creek in Whitley County. The permit area is approximately 1.16 miles southeast of the intersection of Hwy. 1418 (Flat Creek Road) and Hwy. 779. The latitude is 36° 48’ 52”N and the longitude is 84° 00’ 53”W.
The bonds now in effect are as follows: Increment 2 is a Letter of Credit for $229,500.00, Increment 3 is a Letter of Credit for $75,000.00, Increment 6 is a Letter of Credit for $82,000.00, Increment 7 is a Letter of Credit for $75,000.00 and Increment 8 is a Cash Bond in the amount of $75,000.00.
Reclamation work performed includes: Backfilling, grading, fertilizing, seeding and mulching.

A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965-1229. The hearing will be cancelled if no request for hearing or informal Conference is received by: July 15, 2017.

In accordance with KRS 350.055 notice is hereby given that KLA Mining, Inc., 121 Vermillion Ave Whitesburg, KY 41858, has applied for a permit for a surface coal mining and reclamation operation located 0.5 miles southeast of Mountain Ash in Whitley County. The proposed operation will disturb 16.3 surface acres and 16.0 auger acres, and the total area within the permit boundary will be 32.3 acres.
The proposed operation is approximately 0.4 miles northwest from intersection of Mountain Ash Road and Old Mountain Ash Pike and located 0.5 miles east of Clear Fork.
The proposed operation is located on the Williamsburg/Saxton U.S.G.S 7 1/2 minute quadrangle map. The surface area to be disturbed is owned by Barbara and William Jones, Sr. and Kathy Carpenter.

The proposed operation will disturb 16.0 surface acres and 19.0 auger acres, and the total area within the permit boundary will be 35.0 acres.
The proposed operation is approximately 0.75 miles west from KY 26’s intersection with Eaton Fork Road and located 0.5 miles south of Eaton Fork.
The proposed operation is located on the Corbin/Rockholds/Wofford/Vox U.S.G.S 7 1/2 minute quadrangle map. The surface area to be disturbed is owned by Arlene and Jessie Middleton, Sr.
