Leadership Tri-County names Razmus Leader of the Year
Corbin Mayor Suzie Razmus has been named Leadership Tri-County’s Leader of the Year, and will be honored during a banquet in May.
“It was a surprise and special honor for me to be selected as Leadership Tri-County’s Leader of the Year,” said Razmus. “I really appreciate the encouragement and the support from my fellow Leadership Tri-County alumni and I look forward to seeing everyone on May 23 at the dinner. I would also like to highly encourage anyone, who is interested in attending Leadership Tri-County, to contact Lee Richardson. With future visionaries, our Tri-County area can thrive.”
Leadership Tri-County is a non-profit organization established in 1987 as an educational program designed to identify potential, emerging, and current leaders from Knox, Laurel and Whitley counties and to nurture their continued development into the leaders our area needs now and in the future.
Past recipients of the Leader of the Year Award have included: Razmus’ mother, Nelda Barton-Collings, U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers, U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Terry Forcht, Gene Huff, Michael Colegrove and Eugene Siler Jr., a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley, and John Bill Keck.
The Leader of the Year Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at The Corbin Center. The reception will begin at 5:30 with the dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 each.
Memorial tributes are also planned at the banquet for Donna Butt Moore and Bill Nighbert.
Moore is a former Eastern Kentucky field representative for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, who passed away in January.
Nighbert is a former Williamsburg Mayor and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary, who passed away in 2021.
