‘Last Train to Nibroc’ stops in Corbin

  The "Last Train to Nibroc" is taking to the stage Friday and Saturday.

The Arlene Hutton play tells the story of two natives of Applachia who meet on a cross-country train in 1940.

When Raleigh and May discover they are from neighboring towns, he decides to change trains for Kentucky and promises to take her to the next Nibroc Festival.

Scene two finds the duo at the Nibroc Festival more than a year later.

The play stars Corbin High School students Henry Harris and Preslie Peters, who have had feature roles in Redhound Theatre Productions of "Doubt," and "Little Shop of Horrors."

The play is directed by Redhound Theatre Alum Katie Noble, who won multiple awards during her time in the program.

Noble is not studying theatre at the University of Kentucky.

The play begins at 6 p.m. each evening. Performances will be held under the tent at Nibroc Park on Main Street.

Admission is free.
