Larry Wayne Goodin
Larry Wayne Goodin, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2018, at Baptist Health of Corbin.
Born January 27, 1951, in Corbin, Larry was the son of the late Leland L. and Amanda Lorene (Oaks) Goodin.
Larry was Deputy Chief for Corbin Police Department, retiring after 25 years of faithful service on July 31, 2002.
He also served as an EMT instructor for many years, as well as, owner of Professional Medical Transport. He was an avid lover of trains and antique restoration & was a loving father, husband, and grandfather.
Besides his parents, Larry is preceded in death by a daughter, Shana Hamilton.
Larry is survived by his wife Deborah (Elliott) Goodin or as he lovingly called her “D”; two sons, Jason Goodin and wife Vanessa of Berea, and Ethan and husband Jamie of Berea, and Amy Potter of Terre Haute, IN; ten grandchildren,Brianna Goodin, Kayla Goodin, Jaycee Guthrie, Brady Guthrie, Ren Vires, Jacob Hamilton, Hannah Hamilton, Alex Ellison, Luke Ellison, Emma Potter, and his beloved boxer dog Katie Did; and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, from 12 noon until the funeral hour of 2 p.m. in the O’Neil – Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, in the O’Neil – Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin, with Jeff Gomez, Scott Frazier, Dylan Mahan, Josh Hamilton, Jamie Vires, and Todd Wade serving as pallbearers as well as grandsons serving as honorary pallbearers.
