Large methamphetamine bust made near Corbin Wednesday

Authorities are saying that one of the largest methamphetamine busts in the history of Laurel County took place at an apartment complex near Corbin Wednesday.
Thirty-eight-year-old Christina Holt was arrested at Rose Ann Apartments, on Robert E. Cox Road, at about 5:00 p.m. after deputies from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant there for illegal drugs.
According to police, Sheriff’s Detective Jason Back, and the London office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted a two-month investigation into trafficking of methamphetamine in the area prior to the arrest.
After executing the search warrant, police found approximately nine ounces (a little over one half pound) of meth with a street value of roughly $20,000. A large amount of money was also seized.
Holt was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
As the investigation continues, more arrests are expected in the case.
Also assisting on the case was: Sheriff John Root, Senior Sgt Greg Poynter, and Deputy Robbie Grimes.
