Lady Redhounds will go into 50th District Tournament as top seed

The drawing held Wednesday to determine the top seed in the 50^th District Girls Tournament came out in Corbin’s favor.

The Lady Redhounds will go into the tournament as the one seed and will open the tournament at 6 p.m. Monday against fourth seed Williamsburg.

South Laurel will go into the tournament as the two seed and play three seed Whitley County at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Corbin is hosting the tournament.

The winners Monday night will each earn a spot in the 13^th Region Tournament slated to be played at The Arena in Corbin beginning Feb. 28.

The winners of Monday’s games will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday night for the district championship.

Wednesday’s drawing was necessary after Corbin and South Laurel ended the regular season with identical 5-1 district records.

The teams split the season series with each team winning on its home court.
