Lady Redhounds will go into 50th District Tournament as top seed
The drawing held Wednesday to determine the top seed in the 50th District Girls Tournament came out in Corbin’s favor.
The Lady Redhounds will go into the tournament as the one seed and will open the tournament at 6 p.m. Monday against fourth seed Williamsburg.
South Laurel will go into the tournament as the two seed and play three seed Whitley County at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Corbin is hosting the tournament.
The winners Monday night will each earn a spot in the 13th Region Tournament slated to be played at The Arena in Corbin beginning Feb. 28.
The winners of Monday’s games will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday night for the district championship.
Wednesday’s drawing was necessary after Corbin and South Laurel ended the regular season with identical 5-1 district records.
The teams split the season series with each team winning on its home court.
