Lady Redhounds run winning streak to five
The Corbin Lady Redhounds ran their winning streak to five games and their record to 6-1 with victories over Lynn Camp, Williamsburg and Leslie County, outscoring their opponents by an average of 51 points.
“We have been playing really well,” said Coach Isaac Wilson. “I feel like we have been very unselfish and sharing the basketball – playing a lot of team basketball. It is something that we are going to have to continue to do if we would like to achieve the goals that we have set for this year. That is kind of the message moving forward. Just understand that we is greater than me.”

Eleven Lady Redhounds got into the scoring column on the night.

The Lady Redhounds will travel to Somerset beginning Monday to compete in the Lake Cumberland Holiday Hoops tournament.
“We just want to continue to build on our team play,” Wilson said of what he would like to see in that tournament. “I feel like that we have got to continue to execute a little better. I feel like we can rebound the ball better. We have been taking good care of the basketball and not turning it over. And, like I said, we have been sharing. We have been having tons of assists in this five-game stretch.”
In addition, Wilson said he has been proud of the effort the Lady Redhounds have shown on the defensive end where they have been forcing a lot of turnovers that have led to fast break baskets.
“That has kind of been the message after the season opener,” Wilson said noting that Corbin scored 70 points against Pulaski County but still lost. “Scoring is something we can do well, but defense is something that you have got to want to do. We are going to have to want to do that if we want to be good. Our kids want to be good.”
