KSP arrests registered sex offender

State police arrested Joshua Moolhuizen on Sept. 15 for failure to comply with sex offender registration.
A registered sex offender with a Williamsburg address is behind bars for first-offense failure to comply with sex offender registration.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Dackery Larkey arrested Joshua M. Moolhuizen, 37, of 1459 New Zion Church Road, Williamsburg, about 10:31 p.m. Thursday on 18th Street in Corbin, according to an arrest citation.
Larkey obtained an arrest warrant for Moolhuizen on May 18.
“Joshua Moolhuizen is a registered sex offender from the state of Michigan (who) has a listed address of 244 S. Second Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky. Joshua Moolhuizen has never lived at this address in violation of KRS 17.510(11),” Larkey wrote in the warrant.
Whitley District Judge Fred White entered a not guilty plea for Moolhuizen during his arraignment Friday afternoon.
White scheduled a Sept. 26 preliminary hearing in the case and set a $5,000 cash bond for Moolhuizen, according to the court docket.
The Kentucky Sex Offender Registry lists Moolhuizen as a move-in offender from Michigan.
His original conviction was for third-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct. The victim’s age was seven years old, according to a flier that can be printed from the registry’s website.
Moolhuizen is not on supervised release and under registry type, “Lifetime” is listed, according to the registry.
The registry lists Moolhuizen’s status as “Compliant.”
