Knox-Whitley Humane Association needs kitten, puppy food
With spring coming, the Knox-Whitley Humane Association is preparing for the influx of stray kittens.
To help with that, the shelter that serves Clay, Knox, Whitley and McCreary counties is seeking donations of kitten and puppy food.
“We are always in need of it,” said Mary-Ann Smyth, chair of the KWHA Board.
While the intake of puppies is consistent from month to month, Smyth said spring regularly sees the shelter inundated with kittens.
The brand of food doesn’t matter as long as it is geared toward puppies or kittens.
In addition to the food, Smyth said the shelter is constantly in need of garbage bags, paper towels, alcohol, cotton, and cleaning supplies.
The shelter welcomes and appreciates donations on towels, sheets and pet toys, collars and leashes, both new and used.
All donations are tax-deductible.
The shelter is open 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. It is located at 66 Busy Lane, off of Fifth Street in Corbin.
The shelter is also registered with the AmazonSmile program.
