Knox man charged with threatening officers
A Knox County man was arrested Monday night after sheriff’s deputies say he posted threats on social media to kill, “all Knox County Police Officers.”
Deputy William Stewart, the department’s public affairs officer, said deputies arrested Timothy L. Roark, 29, of Barbourville, on an arrest warrant charging him with third-degree terroristic threatening, after locating him at a residence on Stephen Trace Road off of Ky. 3439.
In addition to posts Roark made on his own Facebook page, he reportedly stated that he would kill a Barbourville Police Office on the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.
Sheriff Mike Smith and deputies had made several attempts to locate Roark before Deputy Mikey Ashurst found him Monday night.
Roark was also served with an outstanding Whitley County bench warrant charging him for failing to pay fines on an charge of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.
