Kentucky Blood Center asking for donors this weekend in Williamsburg

Kentucky donors are heavily encouraged to be proactive this summer and donate blood at the Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) blood drive in Williamsburg to save lives and get their hands on an exciting new shirt.

All donors who give blood at this KBC drive will receive a “Give Back, Give Blood” T-shirt (while supplies last) as a thank-you for donating.

The blood drive will be held at the Williamsburg Tourism and Convention Center Community Room, which is located at 650 S. 10^th Street, on Friday, June 2, from 1 – 5 p.m.

KBC is calling on donors to save the summer. Due to the fun activities that summer can bring, donation numbers tend to dwindle during summer. However, according to KBC, “the need for blood doesn’t take a vacation.”

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show photo identification, and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org.
