Kenneth Stewart
Kenneth Stewart, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Elkhart, IN.
He was born in Cincinnati, OH on December 27, 1931 to Harold Clayton and Beatrice Etolia (Baker) Stewart.
Ken was a graduate of Norwood High School and attended Salmon P. Chase College.
Kenneth was a veteran of the Korean War, returning home August 25, 1954. He grew up in Norwood, OH and after high school worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Company and Littleford Brothers Company.
He and Mary Lou married and moved to Hamilton, OH in May of 1955. Kenneth later worked for the Hamilton Foundry and later Reese Products. He retired from Reese in 1990.
A strong Christian man and devoted husband and father, Ken enjoyed woodcarving and oil painting, played table tennis, golf, softball, studying the Bible, and visiting with friends and relatives. He never met a stranger.
People who own any of his woodcarvings or oil paintings will have a special way to remember him. He always joked that his art work would be worth lots of money once he passed away! Kenneth was cherished and will be deeply missed by everyone.
Kenneth and Mary Lou joined McCoy Memorial Church, in Elkhart, in 1969.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Albert Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou (Archer); daughter, Sabrina Stewart Hancock (Gary); granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Hancock, both of Dallas, TX; brothers Harold Clayton Jr. of Cincinnati, Ralph David of San Antonio, TX, James Henry of Gonzales, TX, Howard Earl of Franklin, KY, Clyde Ernest, also of Cincinnati, many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was buried in the Archer family plot at the Broyles Cemetery in Rockholds on Saturday, February 10.
Military graveside honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
