Keith Denver Fee
Keith Denver Fee, born in Yancy, KY on January 3, 1935 passed away on October 21, 2016, at Hospice House in Charlottesville, VA.
Keith spent most of his retirement years at his home in Corbin.
Prior to that he lived in the Staunton, VA and Waynesboro, VA communities for 31 years.
Being the son of a coal miner, and having grown up in a coal camp in Harlan County, Keith quickly decided he wanted another kind of life and joined the U.S. Army in 1954 after graduating from high school.
He was in the U.S. Army from 1954-1963 proudly serving at Ft. Knox, KY, Korea, Japan, Germany, and Ft. Sill, OK where he was honorably discharged to pursue civilian life.
Keith attended the University of Oklahoma and William and Mary, retiring from General Electric in 1997 after 30 years of dedicated service at their Waynesboro, VA and Charlottesville, VA facilities.
Keith enjoyed the outdoors for most of his life, took great joy in camping with his buddies from GE, was actively involved as a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America when his boys were growing up, dedicated to his family, and always true to his convictions. He was an active member of the Steeles Chapel Christian Church in Corbin, KY. Keith will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years Wilma, and parents Stanley and Martha Fee of Cawood, KY.
He is survived by his son Bryan Fee of Staunton, VA; son Roger Fee and wife Cheryl of Wintergreen, VA; Brother Claude and wife Betty Lou of Coshocton, OH; brother Kelly of Cawood, KY; brother Kenton and wife Evelyn of Cawood, KY; brother Kernie of Harlan, KY; brother Kenneth and wife Joyce of Frankfort, KY; brother Kirby of Virginia Beach, VA; sister Kathleen of Oak Hill, TN; sister Katherin of Berea, KY; sister Sue and husband Henry of Cawood, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont.
