Keavy man arrested for trying to shoot his sister Friday afternoon

A Keavy woman was visibly shaken but otherwise unharmed after her brother, Millard Smith, allegedly fired several shots at her Friday afternoon during the course of a family argument on Holly Grove Road.
"I don’t know why," the woman said of the reason for the shooting. "Maybe because he is a drunk idiot.
The woman, who declined to give her name, said they had been arguing and Smith threatened to kill her. When she ran, he pulled out a gun and shot at her.
Deputies were called to the scene about 4 p.m. in response to a complaint that shots had been fired.
Upon arrival, deputies took Smith, 55 into custody and began searching for the weapon. When asked about the gun, Smith reportedly told deputies it was a pellet gun and that he didn’t know where it was.
Deputy John Inman found a box with about a dozen spent rounds of .45-caliber ammunition on the front of Smith’s camper. Several minutes later, Inman found the gun in a ditch line across the road from the camper.
Sgt. Greg Poynter said the gun is a Highpoint .45-caliber.
Smith was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center. Poynter said he will be charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and could be charged with attempted murder.

It was his sister Tony,And she knows why ,Her & Her boyfriend kept stealing everything he had while he was at work.They have a drug problem they are the one’s that need to be in jail.
millard has aways been a nice and hardworking man has been under a lot of stress since his trailer burned maybe he got tired of trying to get back everything hes lost. for someone to call him a drunk idiot must not have known him or just spiting him i have lived in that neilborhood for years and have many opportunity to see millard he has aways been friendly and nice and straight getting off work going home to relax . everybody like to relax after work.
This sounds like what I went thru when married to a drunk @19.Finaly got the wisdom to get away from him now I have trouble trusting men>Dont think its you, its not, and no, it wont get better yes, he will hurt you or kill you.
What’s the big deal it was only a pellet gun. The worse thing to happen is some one get maimed or killed.
