JUNIOR LEAGUE OPENS THURSDAY
The Junior League (13-14-year-olds) Baseball Tournament will begin at Corbin’s Don House Field today (Thursday) at 6 p.m. with Corbin hosting South London.
Middlesboro will take on tournament favorite, North Laurel at 8 p.m. The winners will meet Sunday at 5 p.m.
The second-round Friday will find Hazard playing McCreary County at 6 p.m., followed by Harlan and Tri-City at 8 p.m. The winners will play Sunday at 7 p.m. at House Field.
The losers’ bracket will begin Saturday with the first-round losing teams playing at 5 and 7 p.m.
The tournament’s championship game is scheduled for Thursday, July 12th with the winner advancing to the Junior League State Tournament.
All games will be played at House Field.
The 11-year-old District Four Tournament will begin in Middlesboro today as well. Corbin will take on Knox County Friday at 6 p.m. Pulaski County and Harlan County will play at 8 p.m.
In today’s upper-bracket games, North Laurel will take on Hazard at 6 p.m. with the winner meeting Middlesboro Friday at 6 p.m.
The tournament is scheduled to run through July 11, with the winner advancing to the 11-year-old state tournament.
