July 7 fundraiser planned to benefit Knox/Whitley Humane Association

The Corbin Center will be going to the dogs, and cats, on July 7 as it serves as the host venue for the 2018 Shelter Pets Rock concert to benefit the Knox/Whitley Humane Association.

Peyton Stewart and local band Ruthless Vendetta will be the featured artists along with DJ Travis Sparkman.

“The live music is Rock, but Travis will be providing dance music in between sets,” said Mary Anne Smyth, president of the human association board.

Local restaurant Jon Evan Jack’s will be selling food during the event, featuring pull pork barbeque sandwiches. Food baskets will be $5.

In addition the humane association will be selling event T-shirts. The shirts are $15 prior to the event or $20 at the show.

Admission to the event is $10. Tickets may be purchased at the humane association facility on Busy Lane in Corbin, or at the door.

“We will be accepting debit and credit cards,” Smyth said adding that donations over and above the ticket price are welcome and appreciated.

The event will kick off at 7 p.m. and run until 10 p.m.

All proceeds go to help fund human association operations.

Anyone that would like to bring food, kitty litter, new or gently used pet toys, or collars, harnesses or leashes are welcome and encouraged to do so.

The shelter serves Clay, Knox, Whitley and McCreary counties.
