Julia N. (Cox) Hubbard
Julia N. (Cox) Hubbard, was born Jan. 28, 1926 to the late W.B. and Frances (Smith) Cox.
On Dec. 17, 2021 she went to sleep and her soul was taken to the presence of God where she will begin her eternal rest. Julia was 95 years 10 months and 19 days of age at passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of over 29 years, Elijah Hubbard; five brothers; daughter-in-law Kathy Hubbard; granddaughter, Christy Jarboe; and a great granddaughter, Riley Kate Hubbard.
She was united in marriage to Elijah Hubbard, and to this union six children were born. Four sons, Glyn Hubbard and wife Idella, Homer Hubbard and wife Clara, and Gorman Hubbard and Lori all of Williamsburg, KY., Scottie Hubbard and wife Marcia of St. Paris, Ohio; two daughters, Linda Hubbard, and Betty Saylor and husband Terry, all of Williamsburg, KY.
Along with her children, she leaves behind six grandchildren, Heather Plato, Elijah Lee Hubbard (Christy), Michael Hubbard (Amanda) and Jeremy Saylor all of Williamsburg, KY. Alissa Pivanka (Terrin) of Colorado and Kristen Hubbard of St. Paris, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Plato and Sarah Plato, Conner Jarboe, Sidney Hubbard, Savannah Hubbard, Maddox Hubbard, and Zander Hubbard all of Williamsburg, KY; sisters, Ruth Prewitt and Doris Cox of Williamsburg, KY; special nephew, Marshall Smith; and nieces, Maebelle Smith and Rosella Schafer; special friend, John and Irene Maiden; along with many more relatives, friends and her church family to celebrate her home going.
She was an inspiration to many by her years of service to God, as a Sunday school teacher, a pastor’s wife for many years and sending out cards.
She also taught school in the one room school. She was the foster grandparent for 15 years in the Whitley County School District. She received the PAVE Volunteer award for most volunteer hours for the school year 2003-2004.
Her pastime was spent doing her yardwork and taking care of her flowers. Most important to her was daily Bible reading and prayer time. Other activities she enjoyed were sewing and making her own clothes, quilting and crocheting and working cryptogram puzzles.
During the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, she read Psalms 91 daily and then memorized it and recited it every morning and night. If she could have had the chance to speak to all of you today, she would encourage you to read your Bible and pray daily. She would say I want all of us to be together in Heaven.
