Juanita “Neno” Brock Ramsey
Juanita “Neno” Brock Ramsey, 91, peacefully entered into the Lord’s eternal rest Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her home in Corbin, with her loving family by her side.
Born May 9, 1927, she was the third of six children of the late Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Brock, Sr.
Neno was blessed to live her life in the midst of a large and vibrant extended family and a community of lifelong friends. To have known her was to have loved her. We now entrust her to God’s care and give thanks for the opportunity to have walked on the road of life with her.
Juanita was a devoted wife and mother. She attended Union College, and worked for over 30 years with Social Security Administration, from where she retired. Throughout her lifetime, Neno was intensely charitable and compassionate, giving in countless ways that enabled her to touch the lives of many individuals. She had a kind spirit, selfless nature and found serenity in helping those in need. Her legacy of modeling Christ through generosity and love will always be remembered.
Neno enjoyed a lifelong, genuine and heartfelt relationship with God. She treasured the Holy Scripture, read her Bible daily, and lived out its teachings to the best of her ability. She attended church and Sunday school service regularly throughout her life. She was a member of West Corbin Baptist Church, where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Union.
Juanita is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, U.S. Army Major Paul Vernon Ramsey, on January 21, 2006; one sister: Georgia Baird; two brothers: O.J. Brock Jr. and Granvel Brock.
Survivors grieving her passing include her four daughters: Tamara Hall, Anita Gaylor (Mark Brown), Marcia Ramsey and Paula Sue Chadwell; two siblings: Betty Rose Comer and Charles E. Brock Sr. (Peggy); seven grandchildren, Damian Hall (Angela), Michael Hall (Jessica), Jonah Mitchell, Caleb Ramsey (Chesney), Elijah Gaylor, Erin Chadwell, Trevor Chadwell; five great-grandchildren: Bayleigh Waddle (Taylor), Lillie Hall, Choloe Adams, Huckleberry Hall, Sydney Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends who all deeply mourn her loss and will forever cherish her memory.
Relatives and friends will be received at O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 9, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with Rev. Albert Jones and Bro. Randy Baird officiating.
Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
