Jess Wesley Brooks

Jess Wesley Brooks, 77, of Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

He was born on April 27, 1939 in Williamsburg, to the late John Frank Brooks and Mary (Moore) Brooks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Delphia “Polly” Brooks.

He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Ruth McVey (Joe) of Williamsburg; son, Michael Terry Brooks (Rena Canada) of Williamsburg; special family member, Diane Brooks of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Christy Ann McVey, Brandie Elizabeth Herp, Josiah McVey and Jamie Hamlin (Gina); six great-grandchildren, Herbert Morris Helton, Aiden Chase Helton, Addlyn Chloe Helton, Landon Michael Herp, Jackson Herp and Megan Nycole Hamlin; two sisters, Brenda Summers of Corbin and Geneva Begley of London; brother-in-law, Ova Petrey of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, January 14, in the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian West officiating.

He was laid to rest in the Canadatown Cemetery.
