Jerry F. Sowders, Sr.

Jerry F. Sowders, Sr., 69, of Newcomb passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Beech Tree Manor in Jellico, TN.

He was born March 29, 1947 in Campbell County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sowders; mother, Melda Lamb Sowders Clarkston; brothers, Delmar Sowders, Don Sowders; sister, Edna Kathleen Sowders.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Sowders; son, Jerry Sowders, Jr.; grandchild, Marah Caroline Sowders; sister, Betty Sowders; special first cousin, General MacArthur Lamb; brothers-in-law, Charles Anderson, Michael, Casey and Fred Swancers; sister-in-law, Dolly Jackson; special friends, Faye and Jerry Loudin, Diane Buckner, George Blankenship and Family; Paul and Shirley Douglas and Family; Lewis and Linda Jones; the wonderful people at Beech Tree Manor; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends & family to mourn his passing.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 12 (noon) – 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, at Harp Funeral Home.

Graveside services are to follow in the Valley View Cemetery (Pioneer, TN), with Chaplain Gary Leach officiating.

Military honors will be presented by The American Legion Honor Guard Post #154.
