James Woodward, Jr.
James Woodward, Jr., 96, of Tackett Creek Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Williamsburg Health and Rehab in Williamsburg.
He was born on April 12, 1920 in Jellico, TN to James Woodward, Sr. and Ethel Farmer Woodward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Woodward; wife of over 44 years, Kathleen Adkins Woodward; grandsons, Michael Wallace and Jimmy Jason Woodward; great grandson, Joshua Caicedo; sisters, Edith Hamby, Elva Ballew, Elsie Kaylor, Estalee Sheppard, Emma Jean Brooks, and Ellie King; and brother-in-laws, William Peanut Marlow and Kelly Moses.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jellico and attended Mt. Ash Baptist Church.
He is survived by his three daughters, Pat Woodward of Williamsburg, Joy Sue Woodward Moses of Corbin, and Judy Kay Woodward Partin (Darrell) of Williamsburg; two sons, James Woodward and Rev. Billy Joe Woodward (Joyce), both of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, Jeff Wallace, Eddie Caicedo, Scott Moses, Tim Moses, Becky Isaac, Rachel Carpenter, Mary Thornton, Calvin Woodward, Chrystal Carpenter, Chelsie Montjoy, and Susan Ritchie; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Shirley Adkins of Bardstown; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was held Thursday, April 13, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Woodward and Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Moses Addition of Pleasant View Cemetery. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
