James “Jimmy” Parks
James “Jimmy” Parks, 58, of Miramar Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, surrounded by family.
Jimmy was a vibrant, fun, and loving man. He had a gift with people – he knew how to inspire, lead, and listen. He encouraged everyone and their dreams. Jimmy was a captivating storyteller and was at his prime when in front of a crowd. He was a rare combination of someone who had a love for living life to the fullest while having a firm understanding of what was important – the simplicity of living a life with those you love.
He paved his own way and spent the past 6 years living his dream on the Emerald Coast with his immediate family. Through this pursuit he also gained a caring work family. Jimmy was very active in his role as “Pappy J” and had an extra soft spot in his heart for his grandchildren.
Jimmy was raised in Corbin, and is preceded in death by parents, Harold Gene Parks and Jackie (Hyde) Parks.
He is survived by his high-school sweetheart and wife of 38 years, Pam (Farmer) Parks; two daughters, Ashley (Parks) Brooks and Brooke (Parks) Rosicka, who were his pride and joy; his sister, Kim (Parks) House; two son-in-laws, Matthew Brooks and Zack Rosicka; his five grandchildren, Peyton Gayle Brooks, Ryan James Brooks, Carter Joseph Rosicka, Leah Marie Brooks, and Colton James Rosicka; also his father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-laws and sister-in-law; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, a great-niece, and great-nephews – each who were very special to him.
A brief memorial service will be held 4:45 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the South Walton Church of Christ in Miramar Beach, FL, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jimmy Parks, 10005 US Hwy 98 W., Miramar Beach, FL, to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
