James B. Barnett
James B. Barnett, 86, of Sevierville, TN, formerly of Jellico, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
He was born on February 5, 1932 to the late Fred Clarence Barnett and Ruby (Gilliam) Barnett Cohen in the Wooldridge Community of Campbell County, TN.
His paternal grandparents, who were like parents, were the late John Barnett and Elizabeth (Slover) Barnett.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by one daughter and one granddaughter; six brothers, R. C. Barnett, Dallas Barnett, Wallace Barnett, Joe B. Barnett, Arnold Barnett, and Carson Barnett; three sisters, Inez (Barnett) Stephens, Patsy (Barnett) Shelton, and Kathaleen (Barnett) Goad.
He is survived by a grandson and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Willard Barnett, and wife, Rose, of Ohio; one half-sister, Rhonda (Barnett) Carroll, of Ohio; special niece, Sandy Layman, and husband, Cecil, of Sevierville, TN; numerous other nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, December 21, at 11 a.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral will follow on Friday, December 21, at 12 noon at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Stephens, Jr. officiating.
Burial will immediately follow in the Douglas Cemetery in the Oswego Community of Campbell County, TN.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of all arrangements.
