James Alvin “Jim” Gray
James Alvin “Jim” Gray, 59, of Miamisburg, FL passed away, Sunday, December 31, 2017.
Jim was born June 16, 1958 in Chicago, IL to his late biological parents, Charles Edward and Frances Kathleen Carroll Gray, Sr.
Jim was a graduate of Campbell County High School in Tennessee and attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg.
Jim had been employed as a National Geodetic Survey (NOAA) in Rockville, MD; manufactured utility equipment for S & C Electric and later found his passion in construction and remodeling as a self-employed contractor.
Jim was an excellent golfer, playing in many tournaments and for several leagues over the years. He enjoyed many days at Yankee Trace and Pipestone Golf Courses in Ohio and also in Pineville.
In addition, Jim was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Sulfridge; a son, Toby Gray and brothers, Joseph Taylor and John Crowder.
He is survived by his mother, Alma Sulfridge of Tennessee; his fiancé, Teresa (Cox) Peace of Miamisburg; children, Colleen Gray, Tommy Gray, Michael Gray and Brian Gray all of Illinois; brothers, Charles Gray Jr., Patrick Harrigan, Jim Wilson and John DeLacerda; sisters, Lola Slaughter, Lori Spitnale, Donna Arnold, Janet Tate, Diane Parker and Yvonne Silva; best friend, Johnny Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Sunday, January 7 at the Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg and was conducted by family friend, Joshua Baker.
