Iva Hickey Ward

Iva Hickey Ward, 87, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at The Heritage.

Born in Williamsburg, she was the daughter of the late E.G. Hickey and Buna Mae Brooks Hickey.

She was also preceded in death by her husband James Ward, Jr.; sister Vivian Taylor; and brothers Austin E. Hickey and Ralph M. Hickey.

Iva had worked as a keypunch operator for a utility accounting department, and also with her late husband in real estate.

She enjoyed sewing, and baking and decorating cakes. She was Baptist by faith.

She is survived by her sister Helen H. Bradley of Corbin; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Verna Lee Bruce and Mable Hickey; and brother-in-law Elza C. Taylor.

Funeral service was held Saturday, September 24, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Dr. Terrell Bradley and Shannon Rickett officiating.

Burial will be in the Sutton-Pemberton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Alzheimer’s Disease research.
