It almost feels like summer time
Well, I am glad to finally see some sunny weather, but it looks like all that can change over the next few days with the chance of rain heading our way.
The good news is that I have come close to getting caught up on my yard work, but the bad news is that work never seems to be done.
Can you believe that before we know it, summer will be in full-swing. School is out and all the little ones are trying to figure out what to do with their spare time.
My six-year-old will have plenty to do, especially with the addition of a trampoline to her long list of what to do for summer fun.
I will be the first to admit that I wasn’t the most excited person in the world when she and my wife mentioned one, but I have come around (especially after it was put together).
Not only is it good exercise, but the purchase of it taught my daughter a valuable lesson. She had worked around the house doing small tasks for about two months leading up to the purchase of this 12-foot wide monster.
She dusted tables, vacuumed, swept, cleaned her room and really anything else we asked her to within reason. Keep in mind she is only six.
The cool thing is that every time she got anything as little as a dollar, she went to her bank and dropped it in, proclaiming ‘that is my trampoline money.’
I am very proud of her for working toward a goal and come Friday when she finished her last day of school, she was rewarded for her hard work.
Putting the thing together was another story altogether, but they say the assembly of an item like that is part of the fun.
Hard work or not, I enjoyed bouncing around like a rabbit jacked up on caffeine, but I felt it later on.
